The Sisters of Mercy, who have shaped it’s growth and development for over 110 years, founded St Joseph’s school in 1889.
The Sister’s maintained a presence in the school until the end of 1997 and in so doing, remained a visible sign of our school’s historic mission of giving the best possible Catholic eductation.
Without their dedication and commitment, the school would not be what it is today. Our school continues in the fine tradition laid down for us by the Sisters.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians, past and present, of the lands of the Wiradjuri, Yorta Yorta, Walgalu and Ngarigo people, on whose lands our schools are built.
Long before us, they lived, loved and raised their children on these lands.
We also acknowledge all the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community and acknowledge their physical and spiritual connections to the land. We come together to learn, to share and to journey together.
